Grape vines were planted in Washington at about the same time as in California, but its wine industry didn’t truly burgeon into greatness until the 1980’s—unlike for that “other state”. Even still, the finest wines of Washington are almost as glorious as the finest wines of Napa or Sonoma—and at a fraction of the price. So, in terms of quality-to-price ratio Washington wins big. Washington is more known for a variety of exceptional reds, but we will probably taste a white wine too in this class. Many of you already know some of these wines but get ready to come to appreciate them all the more.
